BLACK SANDY BEACH(EROS) Tour 2 hours

Starting at the stables in Megalochori, ride along the paths of the vineyards and see their traditional layout, and along the south trails that lead to the secluded Eros Beach. These paths were created by the great eruption, which formed the island.  As you ride you will see small gorges and ravines carved into the volcanic rock and can marvel at the unique Santorini landscape.At the end of the route you reach Eros beach, a long black beach with impressive rock formation cliffs as a backdrop.  Ride along the beach and then head to the top of the hill to enjoy the panoramic view of the beach and the trails. This village is a historic wine-producing village, famous on the island for its sweeping vineyards down to the sea. For centuries the ancients grew their grapes and harvested them in this authentic Santorini village. Leaving the stables,  we ride through the cobble streets of the picturesque village, with the stone dwellings and white-washed walls. We ride to the heart of Megalochori, allowing you to experience the everyday life of the traditional village our stables is set in.

The ride continues through the village into the surrounding vineyards where you will experience the beauty of the pristine countryside and the precious vines, and your instructor-guide will tell you about the history. With the horses and the guide, the 2 of you will ride on your chosen route, with the stunning views and unique landscape features.

At the end of the ride the staff will set up an elegant table for 2 or a romantic picnic. You are served local finger food and the famous local Santorini wine of your choice.  For any dietary requirements or any additional food or beverages, you may email us your request.

Our next stop is the idyllic Imerovigli (approx 20 minutes), the place where we will enjoy a peaceful walk through its narrow streets, admiring the dazzling view of the Caldera. At Imerovigli is where we will also find the Unesco protected Mount ”Skaros” which is the most important corner of the island due to its construction, as it is completely formed by lava. In the past Mt Skaros used to be a lookout point for protection against pirates but nowadays it is the perfect spot to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Volcano, Thirasia island and the endless blue of the Aegean sea.

We continue our day to the neighbouring Firostefani (approx 10 minutes), a small traditional village that hosts the most popular blue domed church known as ’’The Three Bells”, where we can have a direct view of the Volcano and Thirasia island. Firostefani is one of the most suitable spots to take unique postcard quality photos for unforgettable memories.

Our last stop that could not be missing from our itinerary is the famous Santo-Wines Winery (approx 1 hour). Santo Wines is one of the most popular wineries of Santorini. The Santorinian wine history is well known all over the world so wine tasting is a must. The upside here is that Santo Wines offers a large variety of local wines to taste whilst enjoying a 360° view of the Caldera.

We begin our day visiting a countryside vineyard, admiring the breathtaking landscapes and learning about wine making and the famous Santorinian volcanic wines.
